It hangs, and can keep like that for hours if i don't kill the process

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --sync
2. emerge -1 =sys-libs/ncurses-5.7
3. wait till the error appears

Actual Results:
The compilation hangs

Expected Results:
Simply compile successfully
