Yes, I did notice this sometimes, too. But I don't have a clue why this happens. There are in general two possibilities:

a) syncevolution terminates normally, and Genesis just doesn't notice and hence doesn't stop the animation.
b) syncevolution itself hangs (although the synchronization is completed) and Genesis waits for it to terminate.

On one occurence I did notice that se itself was still running in the background. But I don't know if this is always the case. I this happens again, could you check if syncevolution is still running? If it is, could you please attach the syncevolution log (please remove any confidential information before posting)?
