In the meantime I tried several versions of the nVidia proprietary
driver, combined with several KDE-specific environment settings(*) to
prevent tearing, but to no avail.
Currently, I use the nVidia driver version 346.82, but the problem also
occurs with nvidia-340.76.
*: Most notably the following:
In /etc/environment:
CLUTTER_
CLUTTER_VBLANK=True
(disabled right now, but to no avail)
So summarizing: Linux Mint 17.2 KDE 64-bit + nVidia 346.82:
still this window redraw problem.
If there's any way that I can provide more information, please let me
know. Some time next week, I'll install a new Linux Mint machine, and
I'll do a gEDA test install there to see if I can replicate this on a
pristine machine.
