afaik it is mspgcc branch

Ubuntu provides gdb 7.3. Yes, Ulrich you are right with new a member.
If package is build with ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/gdb/gdb-7.2a.tar.bz2, it doesn't crash :)
