It seems the kernel driver that implements calls _PMC & _GHL does not implement OpreationRegion, and therefore accessing it generates failures. If such functions are needed, one must implement it in the kernel.

I don't think anyone is using BIOS interface to manage IPMI at the moment, and therefore this is not a problem.
