Tweets from blocked twitter users are not removed from the tweet list

If a user tweets at me, and I block that user, their tweet still shows in my timeline(s); the tweet is not removed.

Shouldn't be too hard to periodically check the blocklist and unpublish tweets from those users. The only problem I foresee is how often / when to check the blocklist. Don't want to do it too often for performance reasons, but too infrequently and people will wonder why blocked messages are still in the feed. We'll have to strike some kind of balance here.

When Friends grows the ability to block users, obviously checking the block list then is a good idea. As regards your other point, I agree that it's hard to know how often to check, but some sort of balance can indeed be struck.

I note that if Friends used the Twitter streaming API, it would be delivered block messages instantly. :)

(and checking the block list on an explicit refresh of a stream would also handle most cases; if the user is confused as to why a blocked message is still in a stream, I suspect their first response would be to refresh that stream.)
