In march 2007 there was a tiny step to bug fix in france. The national assembly of france (Assemblée nationale) decided to use ubuntu on all of their 1154 workstations - to save money and to be able to configure each system to the users individual needs. They decided to use firefox 2.0 and openoffice.org2.
Even though its a minor step compared to the number of private workstations in france, it is an improvement.
