Bug still present for me after updating to Firefox 3.6.3 (Ubuntu Hardy, using Firefox from Ubuntuzilla repo). Adding rm ~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/compatibility.ini to /opt/firefox/firefox script right before run-mozilla.sh is launched works around it.
