probably not a 1.9.1 blocker given how close we are, but we should probably relnote it and fix it quickly after.

I agree with Comment #1. Additionally, since it's not a regression from 3, I'm going to minus this now. If people disagree, please re-nom.

I just filed bug 501173 which might be caused by the same issue - but it has a simple Java applet as testcase.

Not going to block on this for .2, but can we get an owner for .3 or later? Dan things we should fix this soon, per comment 1.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, according to this report, you are not using the most recent version of Firefox-3.5 for your Ubuntu release. Please upgrade to the most recent version (3.5.2) and let us know if you are still having this issue. Thanks in advance.

I could not reproduce this with Firefox 3.5.2 and sun-java6 6-14

Also, what Java engine do you have installed?

It looks like a Firefox Linux-only bug:

However, I have also noticed other sites like ubuntuforums.org sometimes cause way too much cpu use for 10 or more seconds after loading.
