At http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mozilla.ui/3535 Alex Faaborg agrees that
the idea in this RFE is a good idea.

He adds, "Persisting the search in the search bar actually ruined the birthday present my wife gave me this year (canon 7D!) when I sat down at her computer and went to do a google search, so I'm acutely familiar with the privacy concerns".
