With due respect to commenters 184 and 185:

Users are certainly justified in being upset about relatively simple high-visibility bugs like this one not being fixed. Commenter 183 may have gone overboard, but he has been bottling it up for 9 years after all... So, no, it's not "Goodbye and good riddance".

Also, Firefox is not now the product of a community of volunteers, but rather mostly of a group of salaried programmers, with much financial backing from Google (if not as much as one would expect given the circumstances). That group can be expected to satisfy certain user needs, such as having this bug resolved. Even Google itself can be expected to have them satisfied. And, finally, why do some people assume everyone can code at all, not to mention get a handle on a huge project like Firefox enough to be able to fix such a bug? A tiny tiny minority of users have the skills and the time to do so.
