Apologies, I can't figure out the status of this bug from the last few posts on it. I like the sound of comment #102. This feature seems to be being held up by implementation problems for on-the-spot user decision of what to do. Comment #102 suggests an approach whereby a user can specify in advance what MIME types he wants to view inline always. Why can't *THAT* be implemented first (and seperately), and then when *this* finally gets done, there can be a tick box "always do this", which is the equivalent of the configuration gizmo?

In other words, why isn't there a seperate bug for what I outline above so that there is actually a way to handle the problem, for now, and stop people whining on this bug?
