John is absolutely right. We should be mortified that this bug is still open
after 5 years. The user needs to be able to cope with misconfigured servers by
<a href="http://forcecontenttype.mozdev.org/screenshots.html">changing the
content type</a>.

The last 9 months of comments on this bug are an impenetrable morass of patch
discussion. Can someone please summarize the current state of affairs?
