I'm now sure it's not an Ubuntu issue: probably it's a Gecko images-related-memory-leak.
I tried also using other Desktop Environment (lighter ones like XFCE) to avoid graphic memory usage, and also with Firefox lite (no plugins, no addons, nothing alse than Gecko UI): problem's still here! :)
