If that question was to me:
I screwed up. I never was able to reproduce with Firefox but when I opened the bugreport and the behaviour looked very much like Gecko/Necko itself I wrote initially about Firefox instead of Thunderbird while I still was trying to reproduce.

To make it clear:
I cannot observe any erratic behaviour with Firefox 18b2 but I can reproduce with Thunderbird 18b1 easily. Sorry for the confusion but I really hadn't expected a difference there.
