We definitely support systems without GConf and gsettings-desktop-schemas (which is GNOME-specific AFAIK).
(I don't know whether or not that is equivalent, for purposes of this bug, to removing libmozgnome.so - libmozgnome should now load on all systems because there are no longer gnomevfs or libnotify dependencies, and GConf is accessed through dlopen.)
