Hoping that this would be fixed in Mint 10 (Julia).
Not so much..... :( (still broken)
Fresh install of LinuxMint R10 w/ Linux 2.6.35-22-generic on AMD Athlon 64 (64 bit version)
When switching users "nm-applet" fails to show up for second user.
This is a major annoyance for my family as many others have expressed. This one bug makes me hesitate to recommend Linux to more friends because network control just has to be easy for novice users.
My work around till a fix comes is to add "nm-applet" as a menu item under accessories.
At least I can train my family to open it there if it does not show-up automagically.
Thanks teams for all your hard work...... I love Linux Mint and loath anytime I have to use Winblows at work.
