Allen, there it is said that one of the "10 Things That WON'T Happen In 2009" is that they "predict people will continue to choose Windows".

Unfortunately, we all know that's the truth.

But then they comment that "Windows outsells Linux in the netbook market, perhaps because it's simply more familiar to users than Linux" and "there are plenty of files and data that only work in Windows".

As the FOSS movement grows up we began to see more friendly users OSes (in all senses) and more applications that can provide the ability to open and modify proprietary files like OpenOffice or GIMP.

Continuing this evolution we'll get there. Just not this year.
