Just to add a note to some of the other comments about this, the #1 priority at Microsoft, really more than anything else, is profit. #2 is probably marketing and #3 vendor lock-in, both of which feed into #1. Any software priorities necessarily come after that, so reworking the above:
4. Usability
5. Features
6. Performance
So security would come in at #7 or so? That sounds about right ;)
