There are limits of what a confidentiality agreement do cover. Perhaps you should get a lawyer yourself and check it out. You should never have signed something like that in the first place.

If they want things to be confidential in the first place they would never sue or something like that. That would be like putting up a sign for reporters to investigate...

If your story is true this sounds like a cover-up of something illegal.
