When I open the Evolution window after receiving an indicator, the indicator does not go away from the applet

When I receive an indicator, it should disappear from the applet
when I click on it or if I give focus to the application window.
This works fine with Empathy, but does not work with Evolution.

So currently, if I receive a new indicator and open Evolution
using the taskbar instead of the indicator applet, I then have
to purposefully click on the indicator-applet to make sure the
"old and already seen" indicator disappears.

Addendum: I noticed now that the indicator *does* go away if you open a message. This is not good enough, though, as people receive a lot of uninteresting emails that are never opened.
