There is a temporary way around until they fix this..
Install cGmail and use it.
And in its preferences>Advanced>Commands>Exec this command on new mails, enter "evolution --online" without the quotes..
Check the options to start application on ubuntu startup. It will start and checks when you go online and automatically starts evolution on new emails..
