Bug Description

When adding or inserting a field in the MARC editor, it does not place the field where you are pointing. It places it anywhere and everywhere in the record out of order. We are on 2.2.0. Sample record: The Economist.

Gislaine,

Good morning.

While I can't specifically help with your problem, I just wanted to send a note for you to keep in mind that we all may not have the exact same record in our systems to verify this. Your record for "The Economist" may be quite different from someone else, or maybe they don't have it at all.

Thanks,
Mike Peters

Ok, good to know. However, this could be tested with any record.

Thanks,

Gislaine,

Good morning.

While I can't specifically help with your problem, I just wanted to send a note for you to keep in mind that we all may not have the exact same record in our systems to verify this. Your record for "The Economist"
may be quite different from someone else, or maybe they don't have it at all.

Thanks,
Mike Peters

EG 2.2.0

I can confirm that "Add Row" and "Insert Row" behave inconsistently in our 2.2.0 Staff Client.

For example, place cursor on, say, field 100. Right click, "Add Row" and in my testing it mostly adds row below the 100 tag row but also sometimes above. For a while, it appeared related to whether your mouse was placed on the tag (say, 100) as a single click, or via double click (but that association was not 100% in my testing).

Same for "Insert Row" -- sometimes "Insert Row" added row just immediately above the 100, and other times it inserted the row 2 rows up.

Just curious, but how do the keyboard shortcuts behave in this regard?

Good point -- my tests above only using menus.

Keyboard shortcuts tested both about 10 times each, occasionally reloading record

Add Row - CTRL + Enter
- adds row immediately below each time

Insert Row: CTRL + Shift + Enter
-adds row immediately above each time

Yes, I tested this also and it behaves as George says below.
