I have compared the staff catalog org selector behavior in a patched vs. unpatched system.

The only difference I have seen so far is that the new selector is not honoring the library setting: eg.orgselect.show_combined_names. Only the shortnames are displaying even when eg.orgselect.show_combined_names is set to TRUE.
