Upon taking another look at this, it shouldn't be merged in its current form because it breaks nearly all of the AngularJS unit tests.
I tracked this down to discrepancies between the AngularJS version and the versions of some of its fellow traveler modules. The branch working/collab/gmcharlt/lp1992529_angularjs_dep_update has a follow up to address this.
While I generally expect that with the follow up that user-visible interfaces will continue to remain unbroken, I have not tested them at more than a cursory level. Consequently, I request direct testing of the AngularJS UIs before this gets merged.
