EDI Messages Loading Issues on Large Systems

Bug Description

Evergreen 3.7 and 3.8

The pop up to view the information about a particular EDI message takes an unusually long time to open or just doesn't open at all. In testing in some cases the pop up finished loading after a minute in other cases it still hadn't loaded after 6 minutes.

When the pop up never loads the console shows "closing websocket"

When the pop up does load (after about 1 minute) the console shows "[Violation] 'message' handler took 999ms"

We've been using EDI with multiple libraries since 2012 so we have a lot of EDI messages in the database.

This looks like the same problem as the carousel pop ups have in https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1901888

Also going to comment on bug 1851884, but noting that I specifically tested Galen's patch with opening EDI messages on a copy of PINES production data. The EDI message popped right open.

Since there are no additional comments since 2022 and bug 1851884 has been in main since 3.9, I'm marking this as a duplicate of 1851884 on the grounds that the patch there did in fact fix this.
