I tested the patch and the edit date/time updated but it did so for records regardless of if they were updated by the batch process.
My test was roughly as follows:
1) search for 'tolkien' and create a bucket from the four titles in the concerto data
2) do a batch add 505$a 'test me' - dates update
3) manually remove the 505 for one and do a replace of the 505$a and see that with the one removed it updated the date/time as well
Similarly if I have it do a replace for a tag that doesn't exist (a 799$a) in all the records, all the date/times update.
