I've pushed a few commits to the top. Namely, there is a new perl script to help aid the build process: generate_docs.pl. I've documented how to use that script in the README.adoc as well.

Hope this is helpful. Thoughts and feedback welcome! The script is working for me on the new eg-docs server - but that is the only test I've performed extensively. With more usage, we might find it needs updated, feel free to commit changes.
