I was able to confirm that "Show Originating Acquisition" opens a new tab outside the client when in Item Status List View and Item Status Detail View. I was not able to replicate the new tab from Item Status Detail View opening to the homepage when using a left mouse click. Using a right mouse click and choosing "Open link in new tab" did open the homepage rather than the associated line item in both views.

Tested in 3.2.4, 3.2.7 and 3.3.0 community server.
