Mike, thanks for chiming in again. I agree with your current checkbox design choices for getting us to a workable interface, and also with your proposed future state. I think I can find time to get the disabling working as you describe. But the current ability to check a box and have it remain visually unchecked is a little, if not "quirky", perhaps a more positive word would be "unprecedented"? ;)

Jason, I appreciate all of your testing and the extra details. We're running this code in production, and we're on a rel_3_0 base, so I don't think that's the main issue. One thing I'm wondering from your testing description, we haven't done much testing here from totally empty states, so maybe something can be uncovered in that regard. I, too, I will try to get this branch on a totally fresh VM early next week to see if I've somehow left something out, or if it is interacting with some recent code we don't have on our test environment.
