Michele, is NOBEL recording "slow" queries in the postgres logs? That is, do you have log_min_duration_statement in use and set to a value other than -1? If so, are you seeing any slow queries that are touching biblio.peer_bib_copy_map? Also, are you seeing any queries that are erroring that touch either asset.copy or biblio.peer_bib_copy_map?
The slowdown in your timelog seems to be happening when in the call to open-ils.search.multi_home.bib_ids.by_barcode from within OpenILS::WWW::EGCatLoader::load_record().
