We have also not seen any long running queries for these searches. I applied the patch to a training system and executed a few one-hit isbn searches that exhibited the 70 second delay. I did not see any "Error printing XMPP stanza to socket" messages logged.

I've added a doc to the shared folder referenced in comment 13 with the timelog, osrfsys.log entries and ejabberd.log entries for a one-hit isbn search. The osrfsys.log pauses at 12:10:08 and resumes at 12:11:18. Here's the excerpt:
