Maybe I was confused. I understood the "middle way" to be more complicated and require more settings.

I believe your understanding of what I most recently said is correct, Dan.

I think 1 setting should do it to handle the case where a patron does not have a preferred pickup ou and staff are placing the hold. What happens in the absence of this new setting doesn't matter much.
