I can definitely see how it may be confusing on how values should be entered - essentially, it copies the functionality of the workstation setting, so the anticipation is that the user will be able to save their adjustments via the grid itself. The widths themselves are flex values associated per column, and are whole numbers starting at 1. Most column widths begin at 2 by default. A release notes might help out here
