I'm taking a look at this, and the way the grid is set up, I'm not seeing any simple ways to handle this well. The grid generates quite a bit that we don't seem to have access to editing in such a way that mimics how well the XUL client color codes rows. One idea is to mark particular fields with the background color on particular fields, however it risks looking like an ugly mess, since it doesn't fill up the entire field, only the content block within the field.
