Adding a note that in this e-mail thread - https://markmail.org/message/4c2lxtisv2w37lj3 - there was a general consensus that the term 'holdings' should be used when referring to something that might include a combination of items/copies and volumes/call numbers.

As an example, "Add Holdings" from the record page, which is used to add copies and volumes.
