Bug Description

Building selection lists and PO's from titles in the Evergreen catalog can be a long process involving many clicks. Many of our acq sites prefer to build their selection lists on the vendor sites and then import the records because selection on the vendor site is easier.

This enhancement would streamline the process for selecting acq titles by adding a search tab to the PO and selection list pages (similar to the search tab on the invoice page) and allowing staff to quickly search for titles in the catalog and add them to the selection list/PO in a batch.

The below mock-up demonstrating this idea was created back when Sitka and MassLNC were collaborating on workflow improvements for acquisitions. We ultimately were unable to secure enough development partners to fund this enhancement, but we always intended to post the mock-up to Launchpad so that the idea didn't get lost. It took me a while to get around to posting it.

This would be amazing.

I was also thinking about ways to improve the workflow, and my initial thought was having the option to add records to POs/Selection Lists from Record Buckets would reduce the number of clicks dramatically.

Would you say I should separate wishlist bug for that and link the two?

Sarah, I like that idea! I think it should be in its own wishlist bug, though, and then we can link them together for reference.
