Our current library software uses '@', and every proprietary library software seems to do their own thing and use a different character.
Changing it would help make it familiar to our staff.
Considering other languages, the double dagger might be visually similar to their normal letters. (eg. Cyrillic)
If not directly configurable, it should at least be hardcoded in such a way that it's slightly easier to change; right now that character is sprinkled in several javascript files.
