Please try either
    $ export EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=172.16.33.255
    $ export EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=NO
    $ ./bin/darwin-x86/caget test

or
    $ EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=172.16.33.255 EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=NO ./bin/darwin-x86/caget test
