Sorry for that. I'm not sure that ubuntu packages for emacs modules are compatible with emacs-snapshot. If I were you I would use an emacs package manager to install these packages. Please check http://batsov.com/articles/2012/02/19/package-management-in-emacs-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly/ if you need more guidance. At least, el-get has a recipe for flim.
