First, my specs Asus H87I-Plus motherboard, Intel 4690k cpu, MSI GTX 970(this is going to come up later), 8GB Ram, Running OS Freya.
I've had my system built for a little over a month. Prior to my picking up and installing my GTX 970 i didn't have a problem installing Freya OS in a dual boot setting with Windows 7, doing the install that would set upEOS beside the other OS without my having to go in and set up multiple partitions (/,swap)...this still works.
During that time I was running the onboard Intel graphics (4600) and didn't have a problem with either accessing the internet or running graphics on my system.
Even after I purchased my 970, installed it, and started up my system (didn't do a new install yet) I had no problems accessing the internet OR using the built in eOS video drivers.
THEN, I made the mistake of purchasing Shadowrun, which showed me I didn't have enough space partitioned to my eOS side.
So, I did a clean install of eOS.
I haven't been able to get back onto the internet. Ethernet simply searches...never connects. It keeps trying but nothing.
And the bad part is, now I don't have Nvidia drivers for my GTX 970 either. I can see my desktop...but I can tell it's just a generic driver running.
My big problem is the lack of internet, and I think it's a problem that's specific to me installing the 970. |

1st installed graphic card (this didn't effect my ability to connect to the internet
2nd did a clean install with graphic card in system. I've been unable to connect to the internet while running OS Freya. I connect just fine when I boot into Windows 7, so it's not a hardware issue. |
