can not use the font Monaco

Bug Description

install the font Monaco, and in the fonts viewer can see the font install success, but in gedit,scatch or eclipse can not use the font Monaco. it's will be auto changed to Droid Sans Mono Regular

As weird as it may seem, I can confirm this bug. I tried to install several Monaco (clones) font on the latest Elementary version, yet I can't use it in terminal, scratch and everywhere else. Other fonts look great instead.

I can confirm this as well. Installed Monaco using font viewer and I can't use it in Sublime Text editor.

Actually you can use Monaco but you have to do special stuff:

Refer to this Github page:

https://github.com/cstrap/monaco-font

Steps:

1. Create any folder to clone the Github repository above.
  e.g. mkdir ~/monaco

2. Clone the repository
  cd ~/monaco
  git clone <email address hidden>:cstrap/monaco-font.git

3. cd into the cloned repository
  cd ~/monaco/monaco-font

4. type:

./install-font-ubuntu.sh http://www.gringod.com/wp-upload/software/Fonts/Monaco_Linux.ttf
