Bug Description

I am running eOS on a Dell Precision m3800 developer edition and have the following problem: Some UI elements in setting dialogues (e.g. Scratch, Bluetooth, Startup Applications, Date & Time, ...) are not visible when the window opens. As soon as I hover with the mouse pointer they appear (apparently not all of them).

I recorded the following screencast reproducing the issue: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28321477/eos_ui_issue.gif

This seems to be independent of the graphics driver as switching between Nvidia and Intel HD doesn't have any effect...

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Let me know if I should provide any logs or further info regarding my system...

I also have this problem. Homebuilt PC with AMD A10-7850k running ElementaryOS 0.3 64bit.

Most UI screens have missing or incomplete elements. Some appear when I mouse over them but do not remain visible. Also same UI dialogues are fuzzy and cursor size is inconsistent, often growing to 2-3x normal when the window is selected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is still happening after a fresh install of 0.3.1 (originally the bug was filed while running 0.3.0)

This is not a proper solution, just a work around so that setting dialogues work (I have the same issue). This only seems to happen with the default elementary GTK+ theme. If you switch to another theme (HighContrast is also installed by default) then the issue is gone for me. Alternatively using the default theme, but then switching to dark also works for me (that's what I use now). Forcing a re-install of elementary-theme (sudo apt-get install --reinstall elementary-theme) does not solve the issue.

I have the same issue with Freya 0.3.2, and I uploaded this screencast that shows how it looks: https://youtu.be/juxQ_RgQDcg

This happens on a Dell Precision 5510 ((Nvidia Quadro M1000M) using the nvidia-352 driver v.352.63

It seems to be happening in settings menus, anything native to elementary. It happens both in the global menus and in applications such as Scratch, Photos, etc.

Not sure if maybe this is linked to resolution? If i go to the display settings, I can't configure them.

Per xrandr:
Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 3200 x 1800, maximum 32767 x 32767

The machine it is happening for me is the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.

This bug seems to be related to the toggle switch. The UI elements are not shown (when using the default elementary OS theme) if there is a toggle switch in the window AND it is in the "On" position. If it is switched to "Off" then everything appears as normal.
