Bug Description
Much to my surprise, there's some code in indicator-session that attempts to determine what graphical interface to use, allowing for Zenity if Unity is unavailable. Unfortunately it always tries to use Unity anyway, and so none of indicator-session's functions work. Here's a patch that just comments out the broken Unity dialog conditional; leaving most of the Unity code dormant.
The Zenity dialogs might not be as pretty, but they work everywhere.
Filed bug 1355433 for "Lock", which is a somewhat different problem.

The same solution was already in an older repository!

This branch forked at r417, but the problem with the Unity dialog hasn't changed up to r441(os- patch-indicator -session- trusty) or beyond.
