You're not discussing, you're making categorical statements. "su -login user" is a perfectly legitimate login entry point as far as I'm concerned. "su user" is not. I understand the ramifications for auditing.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. While it may be expedient, it doesn't seem to cover corner cases well; like multi-user X?

Your statement is counter intuitive. If loginuid "was supposed to be" immutable, there wouldn't be a need for a kernel config option. I notice how it mentions systemd in the Kconfig and that I'm guessing that it's systemd folks who wanted it in there. See point #2 above.

Back to the point of my original post and comment#1's (and not arguing details and philosophy) bob's evince and ja's prefs should be saved correctly. This is a bug.
