Since it looks like the problem is at least with "su"'s interaction with the PAM module (if not an incorrect usage), it seems that maybe it would be slightly more fruitful to attract the attention of coreutils maintainers (CC? reassign? I guess they don't even know about this...).

On a side note - the directory /run/user/username *might* not get created at the time of performing "su", since all the computers I tested this with are automatically logging in to username and are not logging out until the computer is shut down. As I understand, the directory is created right after first logging in and removed at the last logging out of a user, therefore its existence does nothing to trace the bug on my side.

On a second side note - is it possible to change the title/summary to something more to the point (at least getting rid of "gedit" mention which has absolutely nothing to do with the actual problem).
