Is this such an unreasonable thing to want to do ?
In one terminal
ja@ferrari ~ 2$ su - Password: [root@ferrari:~]$ gedit test1
(XDG_RUNTIME_DIR set to UID of ja)
In 2nd terminal
ja@ferrari ~ 1$ gedit test2
** (gedit:3096): CRITICAL **: unable to create file '/run/user/1050/dconf/user': Permission denied. dconf will not work properly.
Reversing the order of editing only delays the occurrence of the problem
