Bug Description

The last time I used my elementary OS I had to change manually the battery for an off-topic issue, and thus I incidentally shut it down the hard way.

I thought nothing could have happened but I was wrong. Now whenever I try to boot eOS, Pantheon greeter doesn't even launch -it tries but crashes-, and a ephimeral message appears on screen, just as when you start up in text mode, and which says"Checking the battery status: ". And after that Greeter tries to launch again, but fails. This issue repeats indefinitely. I can also see the cursor point in the screen, but cannot even type with the keyboard.

I am able to launch the recovery session succesfully, but I don't know what to do once I'm there.

I hope something similar has been reported, or at least commented before. It'd be a shame to reinstall all my system.

Thanks for the time.

This problem happened over and over again using Luna 32bit, but 64bit working fine for me...

I have Luna 64bit running on a Toshiba Satellite Pro S500-10Q, so I don't think the problem could be there... But thank you so much for the suggestion.

Any other ideas are welcome. Thanks again.

The problem didn't match to the battery status. It seemed a recurring bug like the one here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+bug/1078977

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
