@crypt: If you can't write files because the disk is full it's not data corruption, nor is it here.

That is, for every readdir(), for each file the xattr will be read, right? Sounds like a lot of seeking, are you sure about enabling it by default? ( If you could build an i386 kernel I will happily do some performance testing )
