We can start versioning libdrizzledmessage ... but it seems like it's still heavily changing at the moment... might be a bit of a pain to manage.
As for the other thing, we can't really put the headers in include/drizzle7 - we'd have to change every file in the server and it still wouldn't do what you're wanting - but the compiler should always be preferring in-tree headers to system headers.
